About the Director

Meghan A. Stefanik has been dancing for over 22 years. She began her dancing career at the NH School of Ballet in Hooksett, NH USA. She danced with NH School of ballet for 12 years, where she was trained in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical & Pointe. During her time there she competed on their very selective dance company, and was in bi-annual performances.

In 2003 Meghan co-founded "Community Entertainment of New England." C.E.N.H was a performance troupe giving children the opportunity to perform around the county who may not otherwise be given that chance due to not being "good enough" or monetary issues. With this group Meghan's choreography began receiving recognition, and won many awards. In 2006 as a member of this troupe Meghan won the title Miss. Broadway in Newport, Rhode Island at the Tickets to Broadway Competition. Meghan was selected to perform on their Nationals Dance Team in New Jersey.

In 2005 Meghan was one of 14 dance majors accepted into the University of NH Dance program. Throughout her time in college Meghan was a part of the UNH Ballet Company, The UNH Opera Dance Ensemble and the Dance Cor in the show Fame! Meghan also perfomed & Choreographed in student showcases twice a year.  Meghan was trained in Dance Pedagogy, Dance Composition Advanced Technique and History, as well as in aspects of the theater and acting. Meghan went on to graduate from the UNH Dance Program in 2009 with her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance.

In 2008 before finishing college Meghan obtained teaching positions within New Hampshire at Studio 109, Dance Inspirations and The Musical Arts Academy. Meghan taught many classes from ballet, jazz, tap, modern, lyrical and contemporary.  Meghan choreographed many competition numbers at Studio 109 and Dance Inspirations that went on to win Top Scores regionally and nationally. Meghan taught with Studio 109 up until 2013 when she came to Kenya.  Meghan continues to provide choreography for Studio 109 during her short trips back to America.

Meghan has been given the opportunity to take many master classes with world-recognized choreogprahers such as Mia Michaels, Desmond Richmond, Dave Scott, Brian Friedmand & Chris Judd just to name a few.  Meghan continues to take master classes to keep her knowledge of dance fresh and exciting. Meghan hopes to one day bring guest teachers to JK & M Dance Studios to further her students knowledge and experience in dance.
